'Breaking Bad' Wins Its Final Emmy Award

'Breaking Bad' Wins Its Final Emmy Award

Julia Roberts presents Bryan Cranston with the award for outstanding lead actor in a drama series for his work in Breaking Bad.Nearly a year after wrapping up, the AMC drama Breaking Bad has another nice going-away present. It is the winner of the Emmy Award for best drama series.
It was the second straight win in the category for the dark tale of chemistry-teacher-turned-meth-kingpin Walter White, who was played by Bryan Cranston. The show also won the Golden Globe for best drama last winter.
The series finale aired nearly a year ago, on Sept. 29, 2013.
Cranston also reprised his win, taking home his fourth Emmy Award for best actor in a drama.Breaking Bad was nominated for best drama in 2012, 2010 and 2009 before ending with the two-year winning streak.
Cranston previously won the Emmy in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and won a Golden Globe as best dramatic actor earlier this year.
But Emmy voters had a long memory, particularly for the last episode as White met his maker.
Cranston beat the reigning Oscar winner for best actor, Matthew Mc Conaughey, nominated in this category for his role in True Detective.
